Hi Everyone!

You are invited to take part in a research project at Deakin University in Australia.

The primary objective of this proposed survey is to collect information on individuals are self proclaimed virtual property thieves (which is not a legislated crime at the moment). If you are an individual who has conducted virtual property theft, we want to find out how you conduct virtual property theft, when you are conducting virtual property theft, which virtual property items you steal (and how many), and finally how you sell these items.

This survey is TOTALLY anonymous, no identifiable information is collected (IP Address etc). SurveyMonkey allows authors to disable the storage of email addresses and disable IP address collection for all collection methods so authors can collect anonymous survey responses.

We are only aiming for a maximum of 50 respondents, but if we get more its great! If you choose to participate, thanks and we look forward to some interesting results!

Maybe its just me, but I think thieves have better ways of spending there time. Plus, I don't see thieves filling out a survey...

If I watched the TV show when it was on TV - I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be allowed to download it. The advertisers already made their money's worth.

Wouldn't call myself a thief, I now use pirate games to see if the game is worth buying. I'm tired of spending £30-40 on Steam for games that turn out to be garbage or boring after a few hours then uninstalling and never playing again.

It is referring to people that steal items online, i.e. hacking a guild war account and stealing the items on it to sell for profit.

I'm so glad I downloaded a copy of Dragon Age 2 before actually buying it.
Had I spent money on that turd of a game I'd be in a serious need of counseling.

Same goes for Croatia. We pay some ridiculous additional tax on storage devices and media so they leave home users alone.

Survey is now closed thank you for your responses. We had around 300 respondents and 100 who completed start to finish. Results are going to be presented at a conference here in Australia this month and subsequently published in an article at a later date.
